Hello to all local business owners and colleagues,
We’d like to share something that happened this afternoon involving our relative and the xx Asian Street Food takeaway.
My uncle had seriously considered buying this business. The initial discussions went relatively smoothly, but the seller insisted on receiving a large sum in cash and refused to involve any solicitor. After we transferred the money, it became clear that the proposed arrangement did not comply with Irish tax laws.
Following professional legal and financial advice, we were warned about the legal risks involved. We therefore decided to terminate the transaction and issued a formal legal letter requesting a refund. The seller has refused to return the money.
We have retained all evidence, including payment records, receipts, and communications, and we are now preparing to resolve the matter through legal proceedings.
If you happen to know this seller, or have any information, advice, or suggestions that could help us, please let us know — even just a little direction would be truly appreciated. We’d be more than happy to thank you in person with tea or other means. We know how hard it is for everyone trying to make a living these days.
Many thanks again,
James
