活动预告丨2024英国、爱尔兰“龙舞新春”欢乐春节活动即将拉开帷幕

当地时间2023年12月22日，第78届联合国大会一致通过决议，将春节(农历新年)确定为联合国假日。作为中华民族最重要的传统节日之一，春节如今也已走向世界，成为世界的节日。随着2024年春节脚步渐近，一年一度的“欢乐春节”系列活动也即将在海外拉开帷幕！

On December 22, 2023, the 78th United Nations general Assembly passed by consensus a resolution, officially listing the Spring Festival (chinese New Year) as a UN holiday. Therefore, as one of China’s most important traditional festivals, the Spring Festival has now gone global. As the 2024 Spring Festival approaches, the annual “Happy Chinese New Year” series is going to kick off overseas!

2024年春节期间，由北京市文化和旅游局主办、北京市海外文化交流中心承办的“欢乐春节”系列活动即将来到英国和爱尔兰，在伦敦、爱丁堡、都柏林三座城市举办以“龙舞新春”为主题的9场系列活动，与当地民众、海外友人一起“龙舞新春”，欢度中国年！

During the 2024 Spring Festival, the series will come to the UK and Ireland, consisting of nine events hosted in the cities of London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. This time, it features the theme “Joyful Dragon for a Happy Chinese New Year”. We invite residents of those cities and friends from around the globe to join us in celebrating this joyous occasion, ushering in a promising Year of the Dragon!

“欢乐春节”活动是由中华人民共和国文化和旅游部会同国家相关部委、各地文化团体和驻外机构在海外共同推出的大型文化交流活动，旨在与各国人民共度农历春节，共享中华文化，共建和谐世界。历年来，北京市文旅局整合百余家文旅机构资源，在全球30多个国家和地区成功举办了上百场“欢乐春节”活动，为海外民众体验春节民俗，了解春节文化提供了平台，使中国文化在全世界形成更有效、更有力地传播。

The organizers of the series include the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center, and ministries and departments including the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, as well as China’s cultural groups and overseas institutions. As a large-scale cultural activity taking place outside of China, the series aims to celebrate the Lunar New Year with people from across the world, share Chinese culture, and contribute to a harmonious world. Over the years, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism has organized hundreds of such series events in over 30 countries and regions. This effort has resulted in a platform where people from other countries have access to Spring Festival custom experiences, effectively presenting Chinese culture to the rest of the world.

本次“欢乐春节”活动将在伦敦、爱丁堡、都柏林三座城市带来三场精彩纷呈的文艺表演，汇聚了京剧、民乐、武术以及舞蹈等多种艺术形式，以艺术为桥梁，促进民心相通，共享中华优秀文化艺术成果。

This time, the cities of London, Edinburgh, and Dublin are in for a treat as the “Happy Chinese New Year” series unfolds, featuring three breathtaking performances. These performances will include various art forms such as Beijing opera, Chinese folk music, martial arts, and dance. Art is our language, and through it, we share the best of China, building connections and promoting mutual understanding.

海外观众将有机会现场欣赏到中国京剧的经典选段，身临其境感受中国民族音乐的和谐旋律、中国武术的震撼气势以及中国舞蹈的美妙意境，文艺表演精彩纷呈，不容错过！

Unveiling the charm of China: face to face with China’s intangible cultural heritage

非物质文化遗产是中国优秀传统文化的重要组成部分，凝聚了中华民族的智慧与创造。在伦敦、爱丁堡、都柏林三座城市的“欢乐春节”系列活动中，海外民众将近距离感知中国缂丝、泥塑、绢人和风车这四项极具北京特色的非遗代表性项目，无论是欣赏精美的手工艺品还是亲自参与制作，都将成为一段珍贵的文化体验。

Intangible cultural heritage is an important part of China’s traditional culture, symbolizing its glorious past, as well the wisdom and creativity of the Chinese people. During the “Happy Chinese New Year” events, China’s intangible cultural heritage will amaze city residents, tourists and more. They will have the chance to admire four representative intangible cultural heritage items rooted in Beijing: Kesi (silk weaving), Nisu (clay sculpture), Juanren (silk figurines), and Fengche (pinwheels). Hands-on or observational, getting involved with exquisite handicrafts will surely be a precious cultural experience.

北京作为世界文化名城和世界旅游目的地城市，对海外游客长期保持着高度的吸引力和影响力。在伦敦、爱丁堡、都柏林的“欢乐春节”系列活动，将举办三场北京文旅推介会，通过 “你好,北京”图片展、“全球吉庆生肖设计大赛”作品展以及现场北京文旅推介活动，积极向两国民众展示和推介北京深厚的历史文化和丰富的旅游资源。

As a world-renowned cultural city and a tourism destination, Beijing has been a favorite among tourists worldwide. This time, the “Happy Chinese New Year” series also features three events in London, Edinburgh, and Dublin promoting Beijing’s culture and tourism. The events include: the “Hello, Beijing” photo exhibition; the “Global Zodiac Competition Achievement Exhibition”; and live cultural and tourism promotion activities. By hosting the events, we present Beijing’s profound history and culture, as well as abundant tourism resources, aiming to engage and encourage more potential visitors to explore Beijing.

本次英国、爱尔兰“龙舞新春”欢乐春节活动，首站将于2024年2月11日在英国伦敦特拉法加广场拉开帷幕，这是“欢乐春节”活动首次参加由英国伦敦华埠商会主办的，除亚洲外全球最大规模的中国春节庆典活动，预计参与人数超70万人次。随后两站将分别于2月13日和2月15日在英国爱丁堡城市集会大厅和爱尔兰都柏林移民博物馆举行，敬请期待！

The “Joyful Dragon for a Happy Chinese New Year” events in 2024 will kick off on February 11, 2024, at Trafalgar Square in London. This marks our debut in the largest Chinese New Year celebration outside of Asia organized by the London Chinatown Chinese Association. We expect over 700,000 participants. The following two events will take place on February 13 at the Assembly Hall (Edinburgh, UK), and February 15 at The Irish Emigration Museum (Dublin, Ireland), respectively.
